Welcome!
The Living Earth School is a nature-based educational organization, started eight years ago by husband-wife team Kate and Hub Knott. We are located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of central Virginia in the Charlottesville area. Our facilities are bordered by Shenandoah National Park, The Blue Ridge Parkway and Appalachian Trail. The mountains, forest, fields, creeks, ponds and waterfalls make our classroom perfect for deepening awareness and appreciation for the earth. Our programs draw from both ancient and modern wisdom to help empower students to become better caretakers, mentors, and leaders.
In the last few years there has been increasing interest in sustainable living and concern over the growing divide between humans and nature. We find The Living Earth School as part of a larger national movement to help people reconnect with the natural world, creating meaningful relationships and experiences. Our programs guide people to greater awareness and appreciation of the natural world, helping them live in a more heartfelt and connected way.
